Art Deco is a style that is synonymous with timeless sophistication, geometric shapes and visual elegance. Architecture played a big part during this period and incorporated geometric patterns found in Egyptian art with the discovery of Tutankhamun.
This necklace encompasses the style of this era with geometric shape and bold colours that will sure be a conversation piece when worn. The scarab beetle is made out of off cuts of leather and layered together to give it a 3-dimensional effect. Some sections are inlayed in to give it a unique fell and then finished off using rich acrylic colours to complement the main features.
The beetle is fixed onto a silver-plated fine curb chain, but a leather cord alternative is also available. The width of the scarab is 8.5cm wide with a length of 8cm from the top of the wing to the tail.
The length of the necklace chain is 18” with the total length including beetle 20".
Due to the natural material used shades will vary to those shown in the images. Alternative scarab beetles can also be made as these are all made to order.
